Hello,

Here is my situation:

My family had successfully completed their medical examinations for Canadian Temporary Resident Visa on April 17th, 2014 from India. My spouse had applied for SOWP and my daughter her study permit.

The TRVs were approved in May however we had to defer their travel plans and my family is still in India.

As part of our PR application CIC issued request for medicals for our family on July 23rd, 2014. While I completed my medicals inside Canada on July 30th, 2014 my family was informed by the panel doctor that since there medicals are less then 12 months old they don't need to take another medical examination. The doctor insisted that they have a communication from CHC, New Delhi to refuse medicals for applicants who have had a medical in the last 12 months as there previous medicals are still valid.

I spoke with the doctor and requested him to go ahead anyway since there was a request from CIC but he declined.

The below link from www.canadavisa.com mentions that they still need to undergo medicals for PR:

What options do I have in this situation?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hey

Yes that sounds similar to my situation where my wife did her medicals in oct last year as dependent(work permit). She did not get Medical from CIC(for PR application) and I only got them. I emailed cic about this but never got a response so I am assuming that this is ok. Also the doctor in ON told me that her file was locked, meaning it was in process with other doctor or CIC had the results.

I think you should be fine.

Thanks

Thanks hondafan13,

If I understand correctly you had to undergo medicals for your PR and since your spouse had undergone medicals less then 12 months ago, CIC never issued a medical request for your spouse.

What about the Ecas status? Does it says medicals received for both of you?

Appreciate your help.

CIC never issued a medical request for your spouse. Yes

Does it says medicals received for both of you? Ecas only says Medical results received.

I am the principal applicant so I am not sure If I can login into ecas using spouse clientid.

Maybe someone with spouse can comment if the medical report received message is different for 2 ppl vs 1 person applications.
