Hi Friends,
I am a Chartered accountant working with one of the BIG 4 froml ast 2 years, looking for PR in Canada. My wife is also in Hedge fund accounting holding rich experience of around 4 years in her field, Masters in Finance and control in profession. 1) Who should become Primary appicant

2) The question want to ask whether I will get PR without any hick ups and with in what time frame. Actually I am getting confused becuase some says it will take around 5 to 6 years to get a PR and others says now it will done with 1 to 1.5 years.

3) If it takes 5 to 6 years then I will look forward to Australia, where PR takes 1 to 1.5 yars under worst cases.

Thanks in advance,
Manish

The new system promises 6-12 months, but ND is the only visa office which is processing in 7-12 months. Remaining visa office are taking around 12-18 months. from your qualification and work experience it looks you have more than enough points. So, go a head and keep 18 months in your mind. Good luck

No one can give you assurance about having no hick ups in your application as it is left to the discretion of the CIC. However, if you follow all the instructions when filling the forms and have all the relevant documents, your application should sail smoothly. If you apply from India at this juncture, it should take you less than 12 months to get your PR. If you apply from elsewhere, it will take at least 1 year from the time your application and all the documents are received at CIC office.

Remember economy is not on top form at the moment so jobs might be hard.
For average salary, see robertwalters.com, they used to have average salaries of various jobs across different countries. Not sure if they have canada's info or not.

Assuming PapmanIndia's question is answered, I would like grab the attention of both RupeshHari and MarkCan to get some clarity in my situation.

Probably you both have read that my application is being processed in CIO (hopefully). I recently realized that my visa is expiring in the next 10 months. Under the impression that the whole process would take under 10 months, I applied for Buffalo. Now, I would like to transfer my case to India. I do realize that its going to take couple months to get my case transferred if Buffalo is convince with my reason.

My question is, at what point or after what milestone would my case get transferred to India.

How would I request this transfer? When CIO sends me an AOR asking me to send the full documents to Buffalo, in my application to Buffalo, am I supposed to request for New Delhi, India and attach a explanation letter providing reasons as to why am I requesting for New Delhi?

Assuming I request Buffalo as mentioned in the above point, will they transfer the case to India when they send me the AOR?

Please help me understand. I think I made a big mistake by not choosing India during my first application to CIO. Hope I won't regret for it.

Thank you for your time.

I am not sure how this would work. They obviously haven't started processing your application at CIO so even if you send a letter and they open it, they wont be able to put an indicator along your name cause your name is not in the system. But then again i have heard of someone changing NOC at CIO. So maybe the best thing to do is to send them a mail now saying that you want to change visa office etc.

If that doesn't work and they ask you to submit to buffalo, the next best thing is to send your application to buffalo AND ask them to move it to delhi.

The last option is to let your current application expire and start all over again with Delhi as your visa office.

I don't know if any of the above will work or not or even whether they are good option. Perhaps others will suggest something.
