PR is still on process, can i apply SOWP outside Canada

I hope someone can give me advice regarding my concern. I am a dependent of protected person, our application is still on process. Can i apply for spousal open work permit? l'm currently living abroad, is it possible for that? My husband received an eligibility letter last Feb. 2024, since then no update. There is no request of biometric and medical yet on my part.

You need to be inside of Canada. You cannot apply from outside of Canada.

Sorry, I'm not sure I understand your question.

If you want your spouse to try to come to Canada before PR is approved through your application as a protected person, your spouse will need to apply for a TRV. The TRV has a very low chance of being approved because of the refugee claim. However your spouse can certainly try.

Thank you scylla. So the only option is to apply for TRV which is low chance of approval. you have timeline in your application?
