Case -
I live in the US on H1b which is valid for 3 more years(2021), and I received my Canadian PR in May 2017 which means already one year has passed with me being out of Canada and the days not counting towards renewal of PR or for Canadian citizenship.

I recently contacted a Canadian immigration lawyer and he told me if I move to Canada now, and still keep working for my US employer and also keep traveling to the US - those days would count for my 2/5 years condition for PR renewal. - So this part is clear.

Questions -
1) Will those travel days also count towards 3/5 years condition of Canadian citizenship?
2) Will CIC check for my intent to live in Canada while all my tax returns in Canada would be foreign(US) income and my travel to the US would directly indicate my strong connections to the US?

I see a lot of people on the Detroit - Windsor commute forum who were in the situation as I am today, but there's not much information of what happened to the Canadian citizenship of those people now.
Were they scrutinized for their connection to the US? Was their application accepted or rejected?

I would really appreciate your specific answers in this area. This would not just help me but a lot of people moving from the US but still wanting to work for US companies.

1. Partial days in Canada will count towards residency. Full days outside Canada will not, unless you work for Canadian or provincial government.
Say you live in Windsor and work in Detroit, you go to the US in the morning and come back to Canada after work. Those days will count.

2. Irrelevant
