Hi All,

I am in US now and wanted to know if there is any information available on what are the things to be considered for applying Canada PR for US born Kid? I have Indian citizenship and planning to apply PR but wanted to check what would be the best thing to be done for US born kids?

Can anyone please point to any links or discussions that may have happened in the forum or any other place which provide some more information on this? I am thinking if I should apply PR only for myself and wife and then later for my kid or should we do for kid along with our application?

Appreciate if anyone could throw some light or some any personal experiences on this.

Regards,
Sachin.

List the kid as a dependent child in your application and you can apply together.
Thanks for sharing this.

I am also looking for more detailed information in terms of long term impacts of having dual citizenship in terms of the kids future, education etc. I did some of my own research but wanted some pointers from personal experiences. Want to know what would be the impact if I don't include my kid in the application, can he stay on visitor visa or is there some other provision based on which he can stay with us. Then at later point of time, we can decide how we want to move forward with his PR.

I don't have dual citizenship so can't really answer your question.
Since you child is a US citizen he can enter Canada without a visa as a temporary visitor for a maximum of 180 days. If he wants to study or work in Canada then he needs to apply for a permit
