I am a PR and got married last year. My husband is a non-resident and files his taxes in India.
I have updated CRA of my marital status change. When filing taxes it asks for my husband information ?
Neither our of support each other financially, he has filed his back home.
1)What information do I have to provide CRA from my husband end ?
2)Is it smarter to get it done at Liberty/HR Block or should I file online at home ?
Please & Thanks

Hello,

Depending on the tax return software you use, you should be able to indicate that your spouse is a non-resident of Canada.

Non-residents do not have any tax reporting and/or payment obligations in Canada (unless they earn Canadian-sourced income), so you have nothing to worry about. If the non-resident spouse does not earn Canadian income, then you should go ahead and file by yourself at home.
