Friends,

I have a tricky situation.

I got my Canadian PR in June 2012, and it will expire in 2017 June. I stayed for just one day in Canada. Since I had US H1B visa, and my US green card was under processing I did not relocate to Canada. But given the green card wait time in the US, we would like to relocate to Canada now. But I just have 4 months for my PR to expire.

What options do I have, to relocate to Canada, without applying a fresh PR? If I get a job in 2 months, do I have any better chances?

Thanks in advance,
Gowtham

Pre-Assessed..
If you manage to return to Canada without getting reported for being in breach of the RO, you could put your PR status back in good standing by staying for 2 years straight. At that point, you meet the RO again and can apply to renew your PR card. Since your PR card is still valid, you could arrange everything you have to arrange before it expires such as SIN number, health care and drivers license.

If you do get reported as you enter Canada, you could appeal for your PR but your reasons for not meeting the RO not being humanitarian, you'd have a very slim chance to win an appeal.
