PR Experience effected by covid 19

Hi,
I have a question which i guess lot of people might be seeking answer for. i am on a pgwp right now and i got my job in june2019 which means the 12 months is completed by june 2020. right now i am laid off due to covid-19 and will surely apply for benefits too. But we dont know how much time this covid 19 is gonna take suppose if i resume my job after 2 months eliminating april and May i wont be able to complete the requiremnts of 12 months even by end of june or july. Does Cic will count the whole expirience or i will have to wait until i complete the 12 months time period. I want to apply pr as soon so that my work permit remains open otherwise i have to arrange somthing to get closed if i dont get the pr file number before my work permit expires.

I suggest you wait for a few months to get extra two months before submitting yr package. If not, it might be refused.

So far IRCC has not changed the rules. This means that any time you are not working cannot be counted as work experience. If you aren't working in April and May, you will need to work an additonal 2 months to complete the 12 months of work experience - meaning you will need to work until sometime in August to get the 1 year.

Exactly i was thinking the same but i m afraid how long these lockdown gonna go. Ircc must do something about it otherwise its gonna mess for lot of students and applicants

Most have PGWP for 3 years.

Ya but they took a course for 2 or 3 years. There are lot of graduates who study for 1 year and the process still goes on but this time its a unique situation..hope ircc do something about it.

Unfortunately those who took only a 1 year course took a gamble. Even a smalll in their own life like a family emergency or a short illness or needing something like an appendectomy could have prevented them from completing the 1 year needed
