Hello,
There is a question that my wife and I have tried to find an answer to, and I hope someone on here can give us an answer to how all of this works.
Here's the situation,
My step-son who is included in our paperwork as still a minor, is in College in Manila on a scholarship. I believe he has a year left to go (give or take a bit) and though his mother plans to land before him we'd also like him to come and visit (actually get his landed status started) once he gets a school break. He may only be here for a couple of weeks before returning to finish his schooling and then coming back for good.
Does anyone see where that sort of plan would be a problem? He's a smart kid who's doing amazing in college, so not allowing him to go back and finish up would be such a waste because we wouldn't have the kind of money to put him through the rest of his College here.
If I understand right after you've landed you can still leave the country before your PR card arrives, ... but when you wanted to come back you would have to go to the embassy and fill out appropriate paperwork to get back over? Is that correct? If so it doesn't seem too complicated.
Anyone who knows for sure how that would work and any problems that might arise we'd truly appreciate hearing from you. Thanks in advance.
