Hi Guys,
I am a EU citizen with active Canadian PR status. Due to personal reasons after activating the PR in Feb 2020, we had to come back to our home country and it seems that we won’t be able to move back for good for at least one more year.
I’m currently pregnant and I was wondering if it’s possible to fly to Canada with a valid PR card, give birth there (I understand that this way the baby will become citizen immediately) and come back for another year, until we are able to move for good.
Is the baby able to sponsor me and my husband for citizenship this way? Can I bring the baby back after he/she is born?
Also, I believe that there is a waiting period for healthcare coverage, so I guess I should go to Canada at least 3months prior the birth? Or is there a workaround for the time being (i.e purchasing health coverage)?
I know this is a far from ideal situation, but due to personal reasons this is the only way I can think about if we try to keep our legal status, possibly as citizens.
Thanks a lot!
