Hi,

I am very confused and indecisive about what should I do, would really appreciate if someone can please guide me.

I graduated in Jan 2012 from a 1 year Post Graduate certificate program at Sheridan College, did a coop work term and now have a post graduate work permit till March 22, 2013. I have another 8.5 month left now, I spent the time to search for a job in Ontario (my mistake). What should I do now to get my PR - I have heard about two options: Manitoba PNP and Nova Scotia PNP.

What should I do.

Regards,
Amith

Hi friend,

Why searching for a job was your mistake? and is it too tough to get a job in Ontario? try Alberta..

Thanks,
Ajith

Nova Scotia PNP man....You dont unfortunately have many choices except that...Manitoba PNP nomination takes about 3-4 months and if your pgwp expires at that time, you will be in serious trouble...The best thing is to try for Nova Scotia PNP...I know its hard but If you work for it and pray for the best, hopefully you will get it..

Nova Scotia PNP is very very tough and they preferably want a field job. I am not confident that I might go through it. Any ideas if a customer care job would qualify for Nova Scotia PNP.

If I go via the Manitoba PNP and file for the nomination after 6 months and my work permit expires, what would happen in that scenario.

Hi,

I am very sorry to read your post and your current situation.
it would be easy to provide proper advise if you can share your complete profile, like your previous experience before education at sheridian.
Through my experience, you can't easily find a GOOD job anywhere else if not able to find in ONTARIO, now I clear it again a GOOD job, All other province are famous between students or TFW for just small jobs and PNP's, but in Ontario you can actually find a managerial or non managerial position in mid size organization who can provide you LMO for work permit extension and after that you can file for PR in FSW or CEC class easily.

PR process takes 1-2years in every province and this is the time you can create a good base for your future otherwise you will stuck in same field you remain during the process, so by this I wish to say it is very much difficult for an software engineer or management professional to apply for jobs in banks if he has worked 1-2years in and food service counter while he struggle for permanent status. so beware while you step forward because this will affect your career.

I dont know your age but yes of course if you are between 21-24 you can take risk of moving to other province for PNP but if you past 25 I will suggest you to search for an employer in Ontario and a LMO will be good for PR process.

The reponse below me is correct too, it would be great if you can find someone in Ontario who will apply for LMO on your behalf...As your on PGWP, they would not have to show recruitment efforts either..
