PR cards shipped through courier

Guys,

I have got into confusion here. I just recently got our PR cards renewed. But before the card arrives, we came to our home country for family needs which were planned for sometime. Our earlier PR expires on 7th July 2017. However we were issued a new one that came to in our mails after we left Canada. I have colour scan soft copies of these cards in my email sent by my uncle who lives in Canada also.

Now he sent me the cards by UPS and I also checked extensively on this forum to find if it's illegal to ship PR cards via courier. 98% responded in different threads that it is completely legal. So I had the plan to have the cards shipped and that is what my uncle did once it arrived.

Problem is that, the package has been on hold for last two days at Customs in Canada. I am just getting anxious about it. UPS guys also mention beside passport, we can ship any documents or cards. But UPS also saying it's "operating delay"- not giving complete picture.

Please advise in this matter. Also I do have the old cards in possession which does not expire before 7th of July. Do you think if the package does not get cleared within next 1-2 days then we need to head back to Canada with old cards? And then should I claim the cards to be lost to CIC?

Please advise. Don't want to go in to PRTD troubles since my cards are valid still.

So did your uncle include anything else in the package or just the PR cards given latter of course would just be a letter ? Unfortunately no way to expedite customs although usually an issue into Canada rather than out hence the initial question.

He just send the cards. We did not think too much about it. Since it's not illegal; we thought it would be fine to send the cards and the letters along with it.

Guys can anyone shed some advise? The package is still at airport. CSR of UPS saying it hasn't yet gone under CSBA supervision.

My UPS store is saying he has sent many Pr cards just like this before and never had an issue. I am may be overthinking this. But got take a major decision to cancel my social event here to reenter canada before 7th.

Also if CSBA seize the cards for say, what should I be doing when I return to Canada.

Please advise urgently.

If you don't have your card or PRTD, you can always go to the US (assume you have visa) and return Canada via land border.

US visa has expired last year. Did not get renewed.

I do have the old PR cards with me that is still valid until 7th of July. I can still get in with that card but by 7th.

Just apply now for PRTDs.

Your PR card is valid until July 7th. However, you stated that you would have to make a major decision to cancel an event to return before then. If that is the case, just apply for PRTDs so you can keep your plans.

An update:

The package was released from customs yesterday night and it's on my way. Hopefully, God Willing, I will get it by 2nd Of July!

Did you receive the card ? I am thinking for a short landing and exiting before receiving PR card.
So am planning to hire UPS mailbox and have the PR card couriered. So want to know if its fine and legal to have to PR card couriered out of country. Won't it be a problem when i re-enter later as IO/CIC would know for sure by passport entry/exits that i left canada before card was issued and came back with PR card which implies that my PR card was couriered.
