2 questions please;

1.what is the current time duration is it taking for PR cards to arrive after landing?

2. After landing, is there a minimum time a new immigrant must stay in canada before leaving for a trip outside canada?

Hi, Now a days the PR Cards are reaching between 2 to 3 months.

If you don't want to wait till the arrival of PR Card, you can leave Canada even the same day after landing or any day when it is convenient for you.There is no specified time limit for exiting the country after landing. In order to maintain your PR status you have to stay 730 days in Canada within five years period from the date of landing.

i got my card in 6 week time and as wilson said you can leave even on the same day but its better to get your pr card before leaving otherwise u will have a problem if anything required by cic for pr card....

Ya, it should be processed within 3 months, however it is taking longer now a days as they have updated their PR system which isn't accepting the pics. Mine even after 6 months still hasn't processed, got a letter couple of days ago to get photo retaken. My wife's also hasn't arrived even after 4 months. ???

What happens if one leaves and there is a problem with the pic. I guess I will have to return for the pic and I read somewhere I will need some document from the Canadian high commission in India to return. How hard will that be?

The document is called PRTD. U need to approach Canadian high commission along with your proof of landing (passport, COPR). No problem in getting visa. May be little bit of time say one week but no other issue
