Hi guys!
my wife & I just got our immigrant visas stamped, and we're planning our first landing soon. I was wondering how long would it take to get the “PR card” after landing and providing a Canadian address? Are we supposed to collect it in person?
Would appreciate any advice.
Cheers!

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!
It should take about 4 weeks & you can give your friends or family members address if you are not in Canada.........

Thanks nicholas30!!
I was hoping this would be the case….thanks again! :)
even HAPPIER now!!

So where are u moving in Canada, what was your timeline, under what category did u apply???

Quite honestly, we’re kind of confused at this stage. We didn’t expect the whole process to be so quick. I applied under Federal Skilled Worker category, and after approx. 3 months of submitting “detailed papers” they sent us this letter, waiving off the interview, and asking for medicals.
So we did that, and here we go…. 3 weeks after that, we got the visa. Therefore, currently I am pretty undecided as to where to go, but I hope we’ll figure it out in days to come. Hopefully, this forum would help!!

Regarding the PR card, the CIC website says that it has a new look now "for more security" and that all new PR residents will get the new PR card
