Hey there.

My first PR card is currently over it's 5 year life span and up for renewal, however something I noticed before on it was that my gender is showing as female when I am actually a male.

I know there is a process of getting this information fixed, however, since the card is up for renewal I am unsure whether I should go through the process of having the information amended or go ahead and order a new PR card. My fear being the new card will also be incorrect.

Has anyone gone through this before here? I would love to hear how you approached it.

Thanks!

Hey, I am in a similar situation as yours. I received my first PR card at a friend's address and I am not currently in Canada. My PR card has my gender wrong (COPR is correct). Apparently, I need to get the card reissued within 60 days but I also cannot do this while I am outside Canada. Somewhat of a catch 22 situation.

Did you have any issues with having the wrong gender on your first PR card, like while applying for a driver's license or a credit? What did you end up doing when your card was up for renewal after 5 years? Did you end up getting it amended first and then applying for a renewal?

Hoping to hear back from you.

Thanks!
