PR Card Renewal

Hi,

My PR card is expiring in DEC 2023, can i go overseas and come back in SEP 2023.

should I apply for renewal before going or do it once I come back .

No issue given that PR card is still valid. Assume you meet the residency requirement. If you don’t you will be able to enter Canada but could get reported for not meeting your residency requirement. When you apply for your PR card renewal depends on how many days your have spent in Canada during the 5 years since landing or the last 5 years of it has been over 5 years since you landed and whether you have international travel plans soon after December 2023.

I have been asked to re-submit new photos before the card can be printed. I am currently out of Canada. I want to take the new photo and post to them including the letter I received. My application was received on April 19 2023. If I post new photos while out of Canada, can that create a problem?? Since we have to write the date and address where the photo was taken.
