Hi

Is it a straight forward case for PR renewal with 775 residency in Canada? My out of Canada days are "1060". Will IRCC take normal time or it may go to secondary review?

Regards

More recent experiences on this blog that I'm seeing with 730 plus days are running into secondary reviews. Anytime you have a lot of days abroad, and maybe @dpenabill is right that the number of days is set as a criteria for attention on the file at the very least. So far, I have seen only 1-2 people with 740-760 days not running into secondary reviews.

If possible, at least wait till 800+. Ideally, a lot more but since you waited so long, another 25 days may help. A lot depends on the discretion of the officer, your timing etc. Since PR cards are processed in 45 days as they are claiming it to be, maybe they will process secondary reviews too faster though I wouldnt hold my breath over that possibility because they still havent cleared the 2014-2015 backlog.

Hi Vop
Thank you for your explanation. In fact I already have submitted the application.

So if my application goes for secondary review, which it seems to be, then what actually secondary review means? Does this mean taking more time?

Need not be a automatic secondary review, I applied with around 830 days, got my card in 1.5 months. My colleague had around 770 he also got it quickly, although his wife's went for further review. I learned she had lot of entry stamps from Middle East.

If you have been working all those days, without many entry stamps especially Middle East, you will get it sooner.

Thank you for your reply.

I have only two travels outside Canada and none of them is in middle east.

Maybe it wont go to secondary review in that case. Just update this thread because maybe it will be smooth for u.

Don't worry rececently my son pick up card from local office with round 760 days. He applied in July first week , approved in mid September & pick up date was end of oct.

Re: PR Card Renewal with 740 days Residency

I entered Canada as landed immigrant on March 27, 2012 an lived for 27 days and left to Saudi Arabia via US and entered again on July 6, 2013 and left January 26, 2014, and entered on March 6, 2015 lived till February 2, 2016, again entered 15 September 2016 to complete residency requirement. I have prepared an excel sheet which exactly calculated 740 days by end March 2017. I am planning to submit my PR renewal application first week of April, 2017. If I delay, 27 days of my initial stay will be gone for calculation purpose, Seniors please advise shall I submit with 740 days only or not.

Here is an update regarding application

Applied for Renewal with 775 days Residency
They e.mailed and asked for Color Copies of ALL pages of Passport AND Travel History Record from Pakistan.
After five days received another e.mail that file is sent for SR

Now I could not get Travel History Record from Pakistan as they don,t issue that to individuals but I have sent them Color copies of passports and an explanation. Now lets see what comes out

wait couple weeks and u will get the card. all they really care is if u have met the residency obligation which is every 5 years 730 days minimum. if u have 775 days from the day u applied for ur pr renewal, u should not have any issues with the renewal or getting PRTD if u choose to visit another country. sure it is time consuming and making u wait but that is the only way.

Yes, but they asked for Travel History Record or Movement Certificate which I could not get as in Pakistan they don,t entertain such individual requests. When I contacted them they replied that IRCC can directly contact us and we only will give these information to them. So I sent my passport copies with about mentioned explanation to IRCC. Now lets see what happens

Aruma any update on your application?
I have also been asked to submit entry/exit record from country of citizenship, which Pakistan consulate has been of no help.
Did they process your application?
