Hi, I hope everyone is doing well...

Question: My PR card will expire on March 2015. I will meet the 730 days or 2 years RO in the last week of Feb.

1.) Do I need to wait for the 730 days RO to be met before submitting my application for PR card renewal or can I submit it now?

2.) My son will not meet the 730 days RO by March 2015, do I still need to submit an application for PR card renewal for him? Since I am the principal applicant, will his PR card be renewed even though he did not meet the RO within the last 5 years since I have satisfied the RO anyway being his mother?

1) No - you can't submit your renewal application now. You have to wait until you have at least 730 days in Canada. If you submit it now, the renewal application will be refused and you'll put your PR status in jeopardy.
2) Yes - your son needs to renew his PR status card too. How old is he?

Hi Scylla, thanks! I will wait until I complete the 730 days. My son is 11 y.o. Will his PR status automatically be renewed? Do I need to send a separate application for him together with mine?
