I am trying to renew my PR card, and since I did not work here, nor did I attend a school etc here I did not file taxes for the 2 years since I became a resident because I wasn't required to and i did not realize i needed to file to renew my PR card. I will have a current tax Notice of Assessment for 2015 taxes so I am ok there. My question though, is I need proof of residency, and i see it says that I can submit one of the following: other notices of assessments issued by CRA within the past 5 years OR transcripts from a school. I can only submit 1 notice of assessment because thats all i have so will that be ok OR do I need to provide 5 years worth? My interpretation of the wording is that I only need to submit 1. I have called the CIC and cannot get to speak to a live person and can't get any answers otherwise.
