Hi, I have been reading posts regarding the PR Card Renewal and Last Name Change due to marriage concerns, however, I am getting a lot of different answers. My passport (recently renewed) still has my maiden name, and my driver's license and OHIP are both with my husband's last name (assumed last name due to marriage). I need to renew my PR Card, but I am about to travel later this year.
1. Should I keep my maiden name on my PR Card to match my passport and change it when I come back?
2. Change my passport and pr card before traveling? Thinking of leaving around November, will the time be sufficient to have the docs on hand before my departure?
Also, if I decided to renew my pr card with my maiden name for now, am I allowed to apply again to change my last name, or should I wait until it is due for renewal again (which is after 5 years) to change it?
What about its implications given that my driver's license and OHIP being under my husband's name while passport and pr card isn't?
