Dear All,

I got letter from Immigration about my PR card saying that my pictures are not meeting the criteria so they requested new set of pictures, the deadline as per letter is 180 days after receiving that letter,

Myself not in Canada at present as working in Brunei so in case if I can't make to provide them picture in the due time as stated in the letter so what will be the procedure to get the PR card? I heard that NEW PR Card application will be made if i can't provide them pictures in due time so can some one please confirm in how many days will I receive the PR card on new PR Card Application. Is it same time duration as for first time landing i.e. 32 business days? or some other number.

Thanks

Wj

Exactly the same situation here. How can you send new photos without receiving the notification letter?

We landed in Vancouver and they sent our documents to Nova Scotia. Now they say that our file has been sent back to Vancouver office and it takes 10 weeks for them to answer then we have to sent it again and wait for another 8 weeks! So totally 18 weeks which is 4 months!

Do you know any better workaround. Could I send the photos directly?

What I have gathered so far is that they ask u to go to a specific office at a time in person for the photos. If we fail to meet the deadline, applies to all who are not in Canada, it is best to just not bother about it. Worry about it only when u want to settle in Canada for good. We can enter Canada with a PR travel document (PR status remains valid even if there's no card) provided we can still meet the PR residency obligation, that is, not over 3 yrs after first landing. Once in Canada, apply for a new PR which will require to provide new photos and the fee. It takes longer up to six months, and this PR card needs to be picked up from the nearest CIC.

Hope this helps...
