Send a copy of expired card. You may want to add a paper explaining you are in process of PR card renewal just for your peace of mind.

Good luck!

Yes, it's not necessary that you have a renewed card to apply for citizenship. Send a copy of the expired card, a note stating that you're renewing it, and, if you like, a copy of the e-cas status page...wouldn't hurt.

Could someone please help with this question:

Q1: Does the New Residency Requirement (Six months of every year) which applied to Citizenship application, also apply to the renewal of PR card? I understand that To maintain your status as a permanent resident, there are few requirements you must fulfill. One requirement is the residency obligation. You must live in Canada for at least two years within a five-year period. But what if I was out of Canada for more than 6 months every year , but the total of absantees were 2 years?

Q2: Can I enter Canada using my valid PR even if I was out of Canada for more than 6 months ? or does the Immigration Officer have the right to question or stop me from entering?

Thank you
