Hello All,

I am a PR card holder since July 2010 and my can will expire on July 2015, I never lived in Canada because of some personal reasons.

Would it be possible to apply for a renewal in this case ? or it is no use to think of it ?

Thanks for your answer.

Tony.

If you could enter with your PR card, then stay in Canada for 2 years and apply for PR card renewal.

Thank you ttrajan,

That means before the expiry of my PR card i need to enter in to Canada and with the expired card I can stay for 2 years (without leaving Canada) and apply for renewal of PR ?

Tony

Yes. Do you have visa exempt passport?

Yes, I have a French passport.

So, 2 years stay is an obligation for renewal of my PR card and without this I won't get renewed ( I mean no other solution) ?

Thank you.

The only other solution is if you have been living outside of Canada with a spouse who is a Canadian citizen. Otherwise - no. You need to live in Canada for two years if you want to have any hope of keeping your PR status.

Yes. If your wife is Canadian and staying with you outside canada, then you will meet RO. Or if you work with Canadian company outside Canada, that also you can show. Since you have French passport, you can enter Canada without much problem.
