Hello All,

Yesterday I was able to get hold of customer care at Canada for knowing the PR card status. They have said that due to the incorrect size of passport photos they have not yet delivered the PR card and will send a letter after 4 months to resend the photos. Once that is done then they will take another 2 more months to send the PR card. Does anyone have faced this problem as I have to wait for 6 more months for my PR card. I am not in Canada now and living in US but gave the address for my friend at Canada. Please help in letting me know what can be done to expedite this.

Reagrds,
PND

Hi :D,

I did not come across such a situation. According to my understanding from the discussions I don't think there is any method to expedite the process of PR card other than communicating with the Call Center. Why don't you send your new pictures exactly as per the photo specification with a covering letter stating that you inquired the status with the Call Center and therefore submitting new pictures for your PR Card. Hopefully it would reduce some delay when they get pictures.

same thing happened to me, my partner's PR card arrived after 4 weeks and mine did not, so I called them and informed me that the photos that I provided were not in their required specs, and I was informed that I will be receiving a letter from the nearest CIC office in our place, I was asked to appear in that office and they took my picture there and after 2 weeks I got my PR card.

Yes, I heard also that people are called on to their office to take photographs. Some people who left Canada after landing, before getting the PR Card had the problem as they were required to report for photo taking!!.

Now People are not required to go to local cic office to submit photos. Photos have to be mailed directly to nova scotia.
I had a Similar Problem. My Family of 3, My wife, son and myself became premanent residents on 3rd October 2011. My wife and i received our PR cards in one and a half month but my son didnt receive his. I used to call call centre agents several times but the response i used to get is call after 30 days since officer has not replied. Finally end of december they told me my son photo was not according to specification and they will send me a letter in my post. I received the letter on 6th January 2012. I did his photos again and sent them back to Nova Scotia by mail the following day. I received his PR card in less than two weeks after re-submitting the photo. Received PR on 18/1/2012.
CIC really gave us a hard time. All the best to guys who are still waiting.
