PR card expiring during travel for business

Hello all,

I'm not sure where to post this but here goes.

I'm employed at a Canadian company that will require me to travel and am a Resident Permanent. I have gotten the necessary visa from the U.S. embassy and everything is good in that regard.

My main issue currently is the fact that my project was delayed and my travel date was moved up to a time where my permanent resident card will expire while on the trip.

I have sent my application about a month a half ago and even if the timelines are correct I would only get my card while I'm on my trip. I have sent a urgent application as well but I'm quite sure it will be denied do to being less than 3 weeks.

Now I'm mostly afraid that I won't be allowed to go to the US for work because they, as far as I understand, need to make sure you will be returning back to Canada and I'm afraid having a PR card expiring during the trip would disqualify me even if I say I'm going to apply for a travel documents when in the states.

I was wondering if anyone has been in this situation and how would US customs would look at me coming for a business trip?

As long as you have a valid US visa, you should have no issues entering the US.

In terms of returning to Canada, if you wish to fly - you'll need either a valid PR card or valid PR Travel Document to board the plane. If you are driving and re-entering by land, then you can re-enter using your expired PR card/COPR.
