Hi,

I have permanent residence card and picked up in 2012 June and I just picked the PR card and stayed for few days and returned in USA. Now I am planning to go to Canada. what are my options as my PR card is expired.
Please suggest.

There are many posts here with similar circumstances as yourself which assume you have read.

Anyway your only usual option is to enter Canada via a land border and hope that you do not get reported for failing the residency obligation which would start the process to revoke your PR status. Although with this there is an option to appeal but that requires a good case other than say financial or not being inclined to stay.

If you are successful in entering without being reported given as a PR you are still at least entitled to enter Canada you would need to stay without leaving for at least 2 years to reset your residency. During this time it is advisable not to have any contact with immigration so renewing PR card is not advisable until residency reset.

Your options are: 1) As above, hope you cross the land border without your breach of the RO being detected.
2) Renounce your PR & re-apply.
3) Stop planning to go to Canada.

If you go with (1) then you will need to spend two years in Canada having no interactions with IRCC/CBSA, so no PR card renewal. If you do not already have a SIN you will find it difficult to get one (as you can only use a CoPR to get that within a year of landing), and depending where you want to live, you may have additional problems (eg in BC, without a valid PR card you can't get a driving licence).
