PR card expired after citizenship application?

Does anyone have any experience of this?

Should I apply to renew my PR card while waiting for the response of my citizenship application?

If I don't, does it mean I would lose my PR status and have trouble travel around freely?

The following link states that to bring pr card during citizenship ceremony even if it is expired:

If you are planning to travel abroad, get it renewed, I suppose its almost 6 months waiting time for PR card renewal.
Actually, there is no harm renewing PR card while Citizenship application is in process.

Thanks for the info. I guess if I want to travel abroad while waitting for my PR card, I would have to get a Canadian travel VISA then?

Yes then you have to apply for travel document and it will take w days dependingthe country you are in
