Hello
I am pr card resident for 15+ years in Toronto. Only recently in 28 November 2022 I left for Pakistan with my pr card. The criminal record I have is for minor sexual assault back 2013 with S.O.R. registry of my name. There is probation for 10 years which will expire by 2026.
Than I can apply for pardon. But I called S.O.R
& informed them of my travels plans. They asked maximum I can stay out of Canada is 6 months & gave them my return flight on 1st June 2023. Apparently I have been in Pakistan and due to family issues I am not able to return to Canada for at least 12 months?? What will happen with S.O.R. probation in my case if I don't return within 6 months time frame? Help really appreciated.

It will be a violation of your probation.

I Applied for Humanitarian and compassionate Grounds, my application was approved in principle and I was also granted an exemption for Criminality, because of a conviction 10 years ago, when I called ircc to check the status of my PR application, the agent told me that Eligibility, Medical and Security has been passed and only thing left was criminality, so my question is if I was already given an exemption from criminality why do they still have to check.Am confused and need clarification.

It’s not a blanket exemption for Criminality. More than likely it was only for the incident 10 years ago, they’ll check to see if there was any criminal activity post the 10 year period .
What if you had numerous criminal acts within the 10 year period ? One would not expect those to fall under the exemption covering a incident from 10 years ago .
In other words it’s not a get out jail card for free

It was only that one incident and IRCC granted me an exemption,
