Hello,

I just got my PR status in Canada and i am currently waiting to receive my PR card by mail. However I had to leave the country for some time.
I still have a valid worker’s visa and a valid work permit. Can I use this to get back to Canada since I have not received my PR card yet?

Glad if someone could help me out with this.

Thanks

No - you can't.

You require either a valid PR card or PR Travel Document to return to Canada by plane. Alternatively you can fly to the US and re-enter Canada by land using your COPR (you must cross in a private vehicle).

Just a follow up question: around how long does it take to process a PRTD to travel back to Canada?

Thanks

No way to predict as there are no posted processing times but expect a couple weeks sometimes longer so earlier someone applies on arrival in country they are applying from the better.
