Hi All,

We have applied for Canada PR and in the process of getting Canada PR Visa under Federal Skilled workers program.

My Husband is Primary Applicant and I am Dependent Applicant.

My Husband is currently working in USA on H1B visa. We are getting panicked after reading about "Job Market" for Immigrants in Canada.

Regarding the PR card after getting Visa.

1) Can my Husband (Primary Applicant) enter Canada along with me "Apply PR card" for both and then immidiately (within 10days) move to US to join his job. I (dependent Applicant) will be staying in Canada and search for Job, once i get a job, he will resign in US and join me in Canada.

2) He can get leave only for 15days or else he need to resign to stay in Canada, which will be a problem for Job and Income.[/list]

3) Is there any solution for getting a PR Card and not loosing Job in US.

Request you to suggest. Your advise is highly appreciated.

Thank you,

Thank you,
1- you two can land and return to the US after 10 minutes.
3- job situation has nothing to do with PR status.

hi,

i read somewhere that to obtain a PR card after obtaining the visa takes around a month to month and half. If that is the case, should we stay in canada during this time frame? & what is the mandatory number of days or number of visits during the PR duration every visa holder should comply with?

Thanks!!

Thank you,
Your husband can leave Canada at any time after completing the landing procedure at the port of entry. However, since you will be staying in Canada, this will be considered a residential tie and your husband will have to pay taxes even though he is not residing in Canada. He will also need the PR card to enter Canada again. He does not need to be present in Canada to receive the card. The PR card will be sent by mail and you can receive it on his behalf.
