Senior members,

For applying PR, I need birth certificate,

I don’t have a birth certificate, as my birth was not registerd. I didn’t have my birth registered 35 yrs ago in my home country. There was no strict regulation at that time.

But I got a certificate from Indian embassy, can I use that one ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi bramyah

It should work since it was issued by an Embassy; it would be better if you had a notarized copy of it and send it to CIC.

Let's ask to our hero member, what do you think about it PMM? Do you think will it work?

Regards
Eduardo

PMM: Can you please reply me ??

Which one is better, PMM or senior members reply. Please advice.

For birth certificate I have two options.

1) Issued by embassy.
2) Letter from birth/death registration office (where I was born) saying
"can't issue, as it wasn't registered"

I guess you should send both, so the CIC will plenty notified about how come you got one from the embassy (since the registration date will not match)

You may also write a letter with a full explanation about it, remember the more information provided the fewer questions from CIC

You should not hide anything to CIC, if for some reason they realize that they were not notified about it and they believe that it was important to know; it could be a good reason for them to deny the VISA. Or at least your process would take longer due to extra document requirements…

Please note: it is just my thought, based on common sense. you may want to ask this to CIC or an Immigration attorney for a pretty sure advise.

Hi,

I am planning to apply PR in CEC. I have birth certificate which has correct place of birth , But my passport has different place of birth.

Since this would be confusing to CIC If i include it in Application, I am going to ignore BC , have Affidavit from Parents , then attach seconday school certificate as additional doc.

Will that be accepted by CIC ?
