Just to give an idea of my current situation, I came here as a student and got a year of PGWP as my course was for a year. After working 6 months I applied for PNP on December 2023. After submitting the PNP application my PGWP got expired on January 2024. Prior to the expiration date of my PGWP I applied for a closed work permit application to keep a valid status. But the closed work permit application got refused on the last week of March because my PNP application was still in progress and I didn’t have any nomination yet.
At that moment my employer submitted a LMIA application so that I can get back to work again but fortunately I got nominated by PNP on May.
After the nomination I reapplied for a closed work permit again before the expiration of restoration period and now currently waiting to get a decision from IRCC.
I was wondering, can I apply for my PR application at this stage or should I wait till IRCC gives me a decision on the closed work permit application?
