Hi,

Last Friday ( 24th Oct), I received an email from CIC mentioning my file is transferred from Ottawa to visa office outside Canada (New Delhi) for further review of my eligibility and admissibility for a permanent resident visa. They also asked me to be patient and wait until that office contacts me within the next two months.

Is this the unique case or is there anyone who experienced same as me ? If its normal scenario then what can I expect further? and normally in how much time ?

I received this email after 11 months from submission of PR documents and after 6 months of sending the spousal relationship proof docs. My Application details are mentioned below FYI.

My Details:
Application Submission Date : 9th Sep 2013
AOR Received: 3rd Nov 2013
Marital Status update: 22th Nov 2013
Submitted docs of Spouse: 21st Jan 2014
Update Passport Number : 5th Feb 2014
Spousal Relationship Proof Docs Request Received: 9th Apr 2014
Spousal Relationship Proof Docs sent: 22nd Apr 2014
Email mentioning File Transferred from Ottawa to New Delhi Received : 24th Oct 2014

I am in the same situation. Got the same e-mail, word in word, the only difference , they sent mine to Europe. I have no idea why????? i guess we just have to wait and hope for the best.

Guyz,

This is the normal process (as per the CIC info in the below link) when you add your spouse in between your application and your spouse resides outside Canada. I got a same email on Oct 24 as well. Start reading from section 7.1 on wards in the below link:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op24-eng.pdf

Don't be panic.. all the best to both of you :)

Thanks Guys for your feedback.

@ Feb_2014: I did not ask CIC to send my file to New Delhi. CIC itself send it to New Delhi. As per link provided by ANTONY14, it is as per CIC procedure. So we have wait with fingers crossed :)

I was more worried because my wife is here since June 2014 and we did not receive medical request yet so I was not sure why file was sent to New Delhi but link provided by ANTONY14 explains first part.

Let's keep this forum updated on our timelines and ATB to everyone.

I am outside Canada and applied for CEC from India. Included my spouse after marriage in the middle of the processing. In my case both of them are Outside Canada only. So I think it is for the applicants who have included their spouse in the middle of the application processing.

There is no defined timeline ... but in the email that I received they mentioned "We ask you to be patient and wait until that office contacts you within the next two months" ... So it can take upto 2 months from the date you received the email or well before that.

Please keep posted in this thread if any of us get update from the new Visa Office.
