Hi,

I need your insights regarding my situation as I am soon applying for Permanent Residency through the RNIP pathway.

Here's the story: my wife and I are not together, and she has returned to our home country. I understand that I need to include her as my dependent in my application, marking her as non-accompanying. However, I also read on the IRCC website that she will still need to undergo a medical examination even if she is non-accompanying. Unfortunately, I have had no communication with her since then.

Is it possible for me to not list her as my dependent, but still declare on some of the forms that I am married? What is the best course of action in this situation? Please, I need your advice or any experiences you can share.

Thank you so much.

If the marriage is in force but not living together you apply as separated, no medical exam for her but they'll certainly ask you for proof of separation.
