Hi All,
Our PR application recently gets cancelled because of missing police certificate for my wife. Although we submitted a CSE about it 3 days ago, we have not heard any reply from CIC yet. So we also submitted EE again and waiting for another draw.
In my wife's case, she lives in Hong Kong and she has been to Australia many times from 2012 to 2016. As for travel history, if counting total days in Australia, she spent 160 days in Australia. As for Address history, she put down Australian address for two long stays in Australia (respectively 2 months and 2 months) since she moved out of HK university residence back then.
CIC website says "You may need a police certificate from any country or territory that you have spent six months or more since the age of 18." During the PR processing, CIC asked us for Travel History Info form IMM5562e. After receiving it, they quickly cancelled our application and the reason is "The police certificate from Australia was not provided. This document is required based on address/background history from 2012/06 to 2016/12. It appears you resided six months or more in that country"
I would like to know why it is cancelled. Is it possible that CIC counting reside time not by days? For example, if I go to a foreign country for several days, CIC considers I stay in that country for a month. And if I go that country for six times, CIC thinks I reside six months there? What does CIC mean by "background history"? Please help share some insights. Thanks.
