PR application for spouse

Hello Everyone!!

Does anyone have recent experience working on PR application for spouse who lives in canada?
How long does it take? I heard it takes longer than spouse who lives outside canada.
What should we pay attention to?
We are still working on filling out the forms, preparing the pictures, birth cert, police letter.. Oh and also affidavit (some friends said I need it, some said no).

1. You know that you can submit an "out of Canada" spousal application while your spouse resides in Canada?
2. An "in Canada" spousal is taking 11 months for first level approval and then a minimum of 8 months to finalize.
3. So check the overseas processing times for the office where your spouse would have to apply and then make the decision. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp
