PR application - correcting an error from EE profile

Hi everyone,

I'm filling in my permanent residency application, however, I just spotted an error. I incorrectly entered one of my employment dates in the Express entry profile. It was entered as 5/2012 - 12/2015 rather than 5/2014 - 12/2015. I received an ITA with total points of 473. I can now correctly enter the date in my PR application and attach a letter of explanation showing that it was an error + how I still fall within the points threshold.

I used the CIC tool to recalculate my CRS points, it now comes up to 453. I then checked the point threshold for that round of invitation - the cutoff point score was 438. So I still fall within the CRS points for that round.

Do you think I can continue to submit my PR application with the letter of explanation, or would I have to start a new one? Do you think they could even just cancel the application after I submit? I know they are really specific and everything has to be completely accurate.

I have submitted the enquiry to CIC, but they take ages to respond, so just checking here in the meantime.

Thank you so much for the advice. I am leaning more towards option 2, just because I haven't seen examples on the forum yet of people having attempted option 1 and confirming that they were still approved.

Option 2 feels safer. As you say, my point score is still good enough that I can get an ita again hopefully.

What happened with your application? I am in the same situation, however, my score did not change, and it is a clearly honest mistake. I have uploaded CSI explaining this typo mistake and that it does not reduce my score also it is mentioned correctly in my Personal activities.
If you canceled your application, was that fast? were Express Entry still active or you had to start a new one?

Please update, I have one month window to redo the whole application and apply for BOWP too
