PR about to expire while applying for Citizenship

I currently have an application submitted for Citizenship and also within this application I have applied for a name change as I got married last year.
My PR is to expire July of next year and my PR card and passport are in my maiden name.
My thoughts were to renew my PR card in case the citizenship doesn't come through in time. But in order to renew my PR card with my new last name my passport must be in my maiden name. I would have to apply for a new Irish passport with a name change (which I cannot do online I must do via application form) and wait for that in order to apply for a PR card.
My question is if I go through with this tedious process of updating everything would it affect my citizenship application? or should I sit tight and hope that everything works out? Any help or advice on this would be great as Its driving me crazy.

When did you apply for Citizenship? If your application is already in progress, I'd assume it would be complete before your PR expiry. Also if you don't plan on leaving the country then you don't need to apply for a new PR. Also depending on how long it takes to get a new PR card even if your citizenship application take a long time, I think you'd be fine until next year. Just check the timelines for PR and citizenship.
