hi! just want to ask how long does it takes for the visa to be approved after passport request?Thank you

Just curious: Does it (passport return) differ from parents to spouse application?

This is spousal application. I received a passport request last June 2011 and i send the passport the first week of July 2011 together with the marriage contract and advisory on Marriage since they requested this documents as well. All these were sent to Embassy of Canada in Manila particularly to Family Reunification Unit. Just wondering how long does it take for you to have a feedback after that stage.

I would post your question to the Manila thread. I could be wrong, but I think Manila is one of the visa offices that asks for the passport quite early on in the process. (Most offices ask for the passport when they are ready to issue the visa - however I think Manila may be one of the exceptions.)

You are correct. Manila will ask passport usually one month after sponsorship's approval.

Is ECAS update always late? it's says Application received since May 12, 2011, I got PPR last May 20 and ECAS status is still the same, PP was sent last July 1, and haven't seen any update on ECAS still.

As we mentioned before, Manille Office asks for the passport early in the process, meaning they do still haven't finished reviewing your file and might not finnish before a few months before issuing your visa.

Do not rely on e-cas. Mine still says application received after 7 months...
