Background:
I got my PPR today and the VO they have asked me to submit my passport to is Islamabad, Pakistan. This wouldn't be a problem except that I am now based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Got here a month ago. This is a development I informed CIC of as soon as I arrived here and have already updated them with the local address. Additionally, I also informed them that my dependents are as yet not here and would be submitting their passports in Pakistan.

My questions are the following:

1) How do I submit my passport to the local VO? I have already opened a CSE but any guidance would be much appreciated.

2) Can my family submit their passports in Islamabad while I submit mine here?

For anyone who is suggesting sending my passport through courier or anyone going there: It is a crime in my country of origin to do so and it is something that I would highly prefer to avoid.

1. CIC will authorize your passport submission at your nearest VAC. Give them some time, they will get back.
2. Yes, your family can submit their passports to their nearest VAC.

PR passports can be sent to any VO around the world, as long as CIC has authorized it.
This is a very common case and CIC helps an applicant without any issue.

Don't worry, your one will be taken care soon!

Hi haider,

I am in the same situation. Would like to know which email did you contact them on?
And also, what difference does it make if you send the passports to a different country for stamping than your location?

Thanks,
Waleed

Hello Waleed,

I opened a Case Specific Enquiry through https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx and additionally emailed them on cpc-ctd-ottawa@cic.gc.ca but this is for Ottawa. I think this was mentioned on the "ready for visa" email I received from CIC.

Sending the passports to another country may be illegal and may get detained by the customs authorities if you are sending it through a courier, as is in the case of Pakistan & India. I'm not 100% about other countries but I'm sure a simple google search would help with that.

Hope that helps,
Haider

Hi Haider,

Thanks for this, could you confirm if you received a fresh email (Ppr letter) after your VO change request?

Thanks again.

Waleed
