Hello,

My wife recently received her Passport Request Letter from the High Commission of Canada in Singapore which was handling her Spousal Sponsorship PR application.

Singapore VAC handled her application as she was previously a resident of Malaysia. Earlier this year she moved to India and informed the VAC via the web form. However the PPR letter is still asking her to submit the passport to the High Commission in Singapore. I believe it's legally not allowed for her to send her Passport (Indian) outside India for stamping.

I have informed the Singapore office via web form and email but have not received any response for about a week. What can I do now ? Do they need to issue us a new letter allowing us to submit it to the Canadian HC in New Delhi ?

The fact that there is a time limit of 30 days for submission, of which just about 20 are left is very stressful for us.

Does anybody know what needs to be done ? Please give us some suggestions.

Thank you

Quickest way is to phone on Monday and let agent ask is/her supervisor.

Thanks. I'll try that. I hope that they take my call. I was wondering if anybody else has faced this issue or heard about this scenario.

The issue you're going to face - and may be why you haven't heard from them - is that I don't think the VACs in India are taking passports at this stage. I believe there was an announcement that they are planning something but not yet announced. Just to keep in mind.
