PPR Mailing Procedures

Hey guys,

First of all, no congratulations are in order yet, I’m just doing a bit of pre-planning so I’m not rushed at the last minute. I know there are lots of threads on PPR and mailing, so I apologize if this question was answered elsewhere and I didn’t unearth it during my search.

I’m thinking ahead to the PPR (if it hopefully, should happen!) and the best way to have the passport returned to my common-law partner here in Canada. We are going through Taipei, by the way.

It seems pretty standard across all visa offices that you can include a prepaid courier envelope for return shipping, right?

I was also reading the Damascus PPR letter that rorita_76 was kind enough to post in this thread http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/-t20427.0.html (thanks rorita_76). On the last line, it indicates that you can authorize another person to pick-up the stamped passport on your behalf. This actually might work best for us, as my common-law partner’s family lives fairly close to the visa office and they could then courier it back to us in Canada very easily. Does anybody know if all visa offices allow this type of pickup by an authorized person? Does anybody know more details about this process and/or know what the letter of consent looks like? How would the third party know when to go and pickup the passport?

As another option, can visa offices send the stamped passport to a different address from the previous correspondences? For example, we could have the visa office mail the passport locally to her family in Taipei, if they would let us, even though the AOR etc. that they sent previously came to Canada.

Thanks again so much for all of your help. Good luck to everyone still waiting!
