Hello Everyone,

In India we have PPF (Public Provident Fund) as an investment fund where the amount is fixed and secured with fixed rate of interest. PF (Provident Fund) is an income which we get in case of Salaried employees.

My question is can we show PPF and PF for our Proof of Funds, since these funds are not volatile as per market.

Thanks for your answers and comments. :)

I've seen many Indian applicants confirming that yes it is acceptable, as it can be withdrawn on request by applicant.

Thanks Andy.. but in PPF u cannot withdraw the whole amount on request and only the certain amount. So wanted to know if the whole PPF amount could be considered?

Also are the FDR amounts be considered?

Thanks buddy!

i understand that in the PPF account you can withdraw some amount based on the number of years.....

You can get something known as withdrawal certificate from the bank where you have PPF account, that will give you the amount that you can withdraw (liquid).

I am not sure about the PF account...since this is something which you can get after retiring from service....although a lot of people withdraw it while changing jobs, that is not the correct practice....

Regards.

Thanks Ankush! The PPF thing that you told me, it helps a lot! :)

I checked for PF, and it looks like we can take PF certificate too to show that the amount is withdraw-able after one quits his or her job.

Hello Members,

I wanted to know if EPF (Employees Provident Fund) is considered as proof of funds.

Also if its considered, is there any format available for the PF certificate which needs to be availed from the PF office.
Does there need to be any note that this PF can be withdraw by the employee anytime or so.

Thanks in advance.

If you are from India, check this thread, it has the process in detail http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/procedure-to-get-pf-balance-certificate-and-ac-statement-from-pf-officeindia-t412642.0.html

EPFO statement attestted by asst commissioner or commisioner of PF is accepted as POF. I tried getting the statement as per the link posted by stanlee, but the pf office refused and said their signature would suffice.

Hi,
I am in the same boat as yours. I have a question if you could answer to it.

I am a government employee from India, and i have invested 3 lakh INR in Public Provident Fund (PPF).

I have a family of 2 to come to Canada. SO, I will need around 8 lakh INR (CAN $ 15312) in total for my PoF.

I already have 5 lakh deposited in my savings bank account.
Now, I have to arrange for the remaining 3 lakh INR to complete PoF.

Till date, I have invested 3 lakh INR in my Public Provident Fund (PPF) account.
My query is that, is it possible to show all this money as remaining PoF ???
because I would NOT be able to withdraw ALL amount from PPF account. They will allow me to use only a part of it.

anyone...Kindly guide me in this regard.
Thanks

Hi.. you need a letter from the bank where you have PPF.. they will give you a total deposit amount and total withdrawable amount in the letter and you can count the withdrawable amount in your PPF.

I am doing the same for me.

Hope this answers your question.. :)

PF amount can be be wholly withdrawn incase the holder is proceeding abroad for immigration/permanent residency. It is given on page number 75 of the 'rules and regulations' of PF. Pl check the website www.epfindia.com for this doc.

However, I have a different situation in this regard. My PF is maintained by my company in form of a trust, therefore I cannot get the certificate from EPF office, India. Now, I can see this fund through my company's portal and take a print out of the same. My question is - Would this suffice as a proof??

Thankyou Jtoc, I was able to see the rule on page 75 of http://www.epfindia.com/site_docs/PDFs/Downloads_PDFs/EPFScheme.pdf . I have one qiestion: Is the member eligible for the whole EPF amount or only the employee share.

Hey, so what about PPF (Public Provident Fund) for government employee?

Can we withdraw the full amount from PPF if it is required for purpose of immigration?
