I've came to Canada on August 15th 2016 on a work permit that expires on April 30th. My visa application was of the LMIA exempt type - postdoctoral fellowship.
Recently I was offered to extend my stay for an additional 4 months and I've applied for an extension on the CIC website. I am yet to receive any feedback. With respect to this I have a few questions:
1. What is my residence status on April 30th? Do I need to move out of the country, inform someone that I am staying for a longer period? My current working visa indeed expires on April 30th, but how do I see the date I am forced to leave Canada? As an additional information I am coming from Slovenia.
2. What happens If I do not get any response from CIC within this month? Am I allowed to work until my application is processed? If so do I need to supply and documents to my employee?
