Post ITA | When to expect PR and Can stamping be done outside your local country

Hi

I am from New delhi, India and will be submitting my Canada PR application by December, 2016 end. After which, I will be travelling to Germany on 14th January,2017 for a 4 month official assignment. (i.e till May end, 2017)

I am worried that what will happen if I get my PR before May, 2017 and asked to report at Canadian embassy in Delhi for stamping while I am still in Germany. How will I manage it from Germany. Will the only option would be to come back to India specially for stamping and go back again?

Can someone please advise and help me prepare for this situation in advance. This is really urgent

When you move to Germany, raise a CSE and update your local address. That'll take care of this situation.

I really don't think your application will be finalized in 4 months as there are people waiting for more than 6 months after the eAPR. But if your application is indeed finalized, you can raise a CSE as Asivad suggested

- CSE is to be raised once I get confirmation from CIC that our PR is through and we need to come to delhi canadian embassy for stamping. After receiving this email, I should raise CSE immediately informing them of my current location and request them to organize my stamping in Germany.

- Please note,My wife is the primary applicant and she would be in Delhi. It is just that I can be Germany during which we may expect to receive PR. I don't think this will have any impact on my CSE. (i.e Primary applicant is in Delhi and Spouse requesting for stamping in Germany)

- Do I need carry all of my originals to Germany. Or Is is just the passport which I would anyways be carrying and my required photos per specification.

If your wife is still in Delhi at that time, as the primary applicant I believe she will have to send her passport to NDVO. But from what I understand you can send your passport in Germany while she send hers in Delhi.

If your spouse is the PA, don't bother updating address because she continues to live in India.

You don't have to carry any other documents.

Below is my understanding. Please confirm and fill the gaps if there are any. Please put your comments against each point below for my better understanding.

- I can leave for Germany as planned in January. No need to carry any original. My passport + Photos are sufficient. No need to raise CSE for myself until I get confirmation on my PR

- If our PR is through with me still in Germany, then I am suppose to raise a CSE informing CIC of my location and requesting them to arrange my stamping in Germany. For my wife & daughter, it will be Canadian embassy in Delhi.

- My wife (PA) & daughter plans to join me in Germany around April/May (it is still tentative). But we should still plan and cover this scenario as well, that is If we have not received the PR before my wife plan to leave for Germany in April/May, then we should raise CSE & update location in our application a day before my wife leaves for Germany. Or she can join me in Germany and if we receive the PR confirmation while still in Germany, then we should raise CSE informing that all of us are in Germany.

- Whatever the case may be, for stamping in any VISA office of any country, we don't need to carry out originals. Our Passport + photos are sufficient.
