Hi All,

My wife (primary requester) and I just received the ITA and we are now in the process to fill-in the forms (eAPR), in my section there is a part referring to a UCI ID that uniquely identifies any permanent resident, the point is that I have received the canadian PR in 2007 and it expired in 2012 as for personal reasons I had to abort my migration process and could not stay in Canada... now the question is what shall do when it comes to the UCI field, shall I leave it blank or shall I input the one I have received back in 2007? Also when it comes to the field saying if I am a PR I guess I shall mention No as my PR expired since 2012.

Thanks

You should try to retrieve your UCI and enter it in your EE profile. If you really can't for some reason, explain it in LOE.
The answer to PR question is of course "No".

Ok thank you, I found the UCI in an IMM document I received in 2007 from Quebec, luckily i kept it, I will then enter it in the eapr, shall I explain why I did not stay in Canada in the past? If yes, is there a place where I can do it? Sorry but can you explain to me what is the LOE is it a kind of letter that i need to upload with the other docs?

Also, do you think that my UCI will impact positively or negatively our application?

True, there was no Express Entry back in 2007. Much different now.
LOE stands for Letter of Explanation, and you can explain in this document anything you think/feel may raise questions upon examining your application.
You don't need to explain why you didn't stay in Canada before, but nothing keeps you from it.
When uploading your documents, you will have a separate field to upload this document.
I don't think you getting PR in the past will impact your application in a good or bad way. It will be assessed as it is, especially considering that it's been more than 10 years.

Someone just told me that I need to revoke my former quebec PR even if it expired, for me to apply to entry express, it does not sound logical to me, what do you think?

It was a Quebec PR? Hmmm...
To be honest I'm not very familiar with Quebec policies regarding expiration of status.
If it's true, honestly it wouldn't surprise me, as they have their own strange immigration rules and policies. I think you should indeed follow-up on this advice. Better be on the safe side...

Someone is right.

Your PR status didn't expire - only your PR card expired. Technically you are still a PR. If you are already a PR then you cannot apply for PR again. You have to officially revoked your old PR status before you can reapply.

Also, this has nothing to do with Quebec. Same applies for all of Canada.
