Post-ITA Proof of Funds Alternative

I went to the bank again with a printed letter describing the requirements for a letter from my financial institutions. They said they do not provide such later. As an alternative, I got them to sign & stamped my recent 6 months statements.

On the statements, it does not mention when my account was first opened, nor the bank contact details.

What other documents can I provide in this situation? Why can't CIC request just a simple 6 months bank statements similar to OINP and when applying for a tourist visa???

I think there are people who have submitted the same and been approved. I'm guessing that the rule of asking for when the account was opened is there to see if people open accounts just for this purpose a week before submitting.

As a last resort, email the bank and ask for the letter again. Whatever they reply attach with the statements and an LOE. All we can do

Can I also mention the bank's contact details in the LOE? I mean if they still refuse to provide me any letter, what would be the best course to actions?

Six months of statements should be fine, but as insurance you could also phone your bank and ask if they will provide some kind of "banker's reference" letter. It doesn't have to contain all of the information for what CIC asked for, but at least a document to show that you are in good standing with the bank and no outstanding debts is useful. Other than that, you'll most likely be fine!

Yeah I will try to go to the bank again and ask for this "banker's reference" letter. I guess any additional documents would be good.

The applicant should provide an official letter(s) from one or more financial institutions that lists all current bank and investment accounts as well as outstanding debts, such as credit card debts and loans.

The letter(s) must be printed on the letterhead of the financial institution and must include the:
• applicant’s name,
• the contact information of the financial institution (address, telephone number and email address),
• the account numbers,
• the date each account was opened and
• the current balance of each account as well as
• the average balance for the past six months.

Xxxx have each stated that they cannot produce a letter of this kind.

As this document is crucial to my application, xxxx that a letter of this kind cannot be completed.

Please would you be so kind as to reply in writing xxx

On a related note, the bank's statement provides information about the current balance in the following format - 2'200.00 USD. Is this an acceptable format for CIC? I am used to 2,200.00 USD format.
