Hi All,

How important are the dates for Travel History?

For 99% of it, I have date stamps in my old passport that help work out the dates. But for a few trips, I don't know the date I returned to my 'home' country (whether that be Canada or the UK). There are also two trips, to France and Egypt, where I know the rough dates, but not exact dates. For France there is no stamp because it's EU, and for Egypt, the stamp is faded, and doesn't have dates.

Is this a sticking point? I'm going to be 1/2 days out on the France trip, and for the Egypt trip, I'm going to be, at most, 2 weeks out.

I believe the granularity is in months for both Personal and Work history sections. Since that is the case, dates can be off here and there and it won't be an issue as long as the information filled in MM-YYY fields check out against your actual travels.

It's got room to put days, too...

I don't think it would be an issue - but I know that they can be picky when they want to be. Although, my assumption is that, as long as I'm declaring it, and I have 99% of it correct, missing a trip by a few weeks isn't going to be a major issue. If they query, I can just say I forgot/couldn't remember.

Just wondered if anyone else had experienced any push back on this, and how pernickety they were on exact dates.
