Post-Graduation Work Permit Renewal - Open Work Permit

Hello,

I have a question in regards to the renewal of the work permit.
Now I'm waiting for the CIC - Vergeville to process my application for Work Permit Renewal.
Initially I received an Open After Graduation Work Permit 2 years ago.
I have the positive LMO and everythings seems fine, however, now I might need to change the employer.

There are the following questions in regards to this situation:
1. Is there a chance to receive an open work permit? (working under class A according to NOC, if it matters).
2. If the work permit will be tied to one employer, I should be waiting for the new LMO and the new permit before I start working for a new company?
3. What if I decide to quit the employer mentioned on the work permit? Can I be unemployed waiting for the LMO and Work Permit in Canada?

Sorry if these questions were already answered,

Thank you in advance,

Ash.

There is a chance to receive an open work permit. First tell me, have you applied for PR and got a positive response? AIP or DM?

1. No, LMO-based work permits are always closed, i.e. restricted to one employer and one job.
2. Yes, you must wait to receive the new LMO and WP before working at the new company.
3. If you quit your job, you can remain in Canada and look for another job until the expiry date of the work permit, at which point you have to leave or apply for status under an applicable category (visitor, etc.). You can remain unemployed - assuming you have funds to support yourself.
