Hello, my situation is a bit complicated and I don’t know if anyone in here came across the same situation. I am about to complete a 2 years college program this June 2019. My program has 2 “placements”, first 160-hour placement in Fall 2018 and second 160-hour placement in Spring 2019. I was not aware that I needed coop work permit back in the 1st placement hence I did the 1st placement (unpaid) without a coop work permit. I applied afterward and got my coop work permit in April 2019 and did my 2nd placement afterward legally. I am very stressed right now that when I apply for PGWP, I will get refused for my first placement and even face some legal consequences. I want to hear from you guys what I should do next. I actually intend to do my 1st placement again.

How did your school allow you to do that? Did you get grades for the first placement? I think the not much you can do about it now, worst case scenario your PGWP will be denied but maybe they wont notice.
There will be no other legal consequences.

Yes, the ironic thing is I received a Pass for my first placement in my transcript. Now I really want a Fail. What misled me is the Non-Academic Requirements (NARs) by the school for my 1st placement did NOT include the coop work permit but the 2nd did include the coop work permit. No one mentioned anything about coop work permit before I went to my 1st placement. I did not even know I worked illegally about this until going to an immigration lawyer. I really want to blame the school but I’m afraid the IRCC won’t accept this explanation.
